My Dad knew at 12 years old he would be a great photographer.  His family was poor but he begged and begged and by the time he was 14 the family had saved up enough money to buy him a camera.  I still have his first camera, “Big Bertha”, a Graflex Speed Graphic 4x5 Press Camera that he used his whole career.  After graduating from High School, he went to College to study photography on an Athletic Scholarship. read more
